Mobile & multi-device learning

These days, people are accustomed to accessing content via a number of different devices - desktop/laptop, tablet or smartphone.

The proliferation of mobile devices in the workplace presents new and exciting opportunities to include these devices as a part of your learning delivery blend. There are a number of benefits to be realised by incorporating mobile devices into your learning and development strategy. These include:

  • Anytime, anywhere learning
  • Point of need reference guides - ie product knowledge apps
  • Extending the reach of face-to-face events by providing a companion reference piece of mobile learning
  • Engaging learners in a different way
  • Delivering learning to learners who may only have smartphone connectivity

Previously, delivering e-learning content on a mobile device meant designing a specific interface for each device. Not any more. Walkgrove's Adaptive Interface Design (AiD) technology adapts the display of content so it fits each type of device perfectly. AiD detects the device's screen size, and then adjusts the interface to display the content in a logical way for the screen size. AiD also allows us to adapt what sort of interactivity will be displayed for various screen sizes; thus ensuring that the user experience is not limited by the device. This responsive adaptation eliminates the need to maintain different versions of the same content for different devices.

We can use AiD technology to build native apps for iPhone, Android, Windows or Blackberry platforms, web apps, or even traditional e-learning modules delivered via SCORM.
