Mental health awareness

Public and political awareness of mental health has risen significantly in recent years, as has society’s understanding of the moral and financial imperatives to improve mental wellbeing. This trend is notable in workplaces because work has been identified as the biggest cause of stress in people’s lives. Employee mental health has come under increasing focus as more and more organisations take this issue seriously. Businesses recognise that employees who feel valued and supported to spend meaningful time at work are not only more likely to have higher wellbeing levels, but also tend to perform better in their roles.

Award winners

After a training requirement was identified to tackle issues of security and counter terrorism, Walkgrove was commissioned by the Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) in conjunction with Transport for London, to develop an e-learning module aimed at HGV drivers. The resulting course went on to win the nationally recognised Counter Terrorism Education Project Award at the Counter Terror Awards, March 2019.

Microlearning

With an ever increasing amount of information being consumed in a fast pace, hectic world, it’s hard to find the time to learn new skills to help us improve our workplace performance. In fact, 1the average employee only devotes 1% of their time to personal development - that means only 24 minutes a week or 4.8 minutes per day.

That one percent of time is valuable and needs to be spent wisely – on training that can provide accessible, interactive and effective content in a short amount of time.
