Data Privacy Day was on 28 January and promoted the importance of protecting personal information. With rules changing and new legislation due to take effect in May this year, now is a crucial time to get yourself up to date with all the new procedures and processes that come with GDPR. Data related crimes are on the increase and with‑over 11.9 billion data records compromised in the first half of 2017, you need to protect yourself against your data being stolen and misused.
Although, by law, slavery was abolished over 150 years ago; modern day slavery still exists in many forms and accumulates £111 billion in illegal profits globally each year. The International Labour Organization estimates that there are 20.9 million victims of human trafficking globally.
- 68% of them are trapped in forced labour
- 26% of them are children
- 55% are women and girls
Video is the modern global medium for consuming educational and entertainment content. By 2019, technologists predict that 80% of all internet traffic will be video. Video-creating technology has also improved in terms of both quality and accessibility, making it easier and more affordable than ever to include video elements as part of a learning mix. But why bother to jump on the bandwagon? Using our experience at Walkgrove in making award-winning learning solutions, we’ve suggested four ways that video can work as a powerful learning tool either standalone or as a component of an e-learning, classroom, or blended learning solution.
